About the Fair
The Craft, Gift & Food Fair Balsham is an annual community event now in its 28th year is hosted by the Meadow Primary School, Balsham, 10 miles South East of Cambridge.
This year the fair is on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October 2017 with doors opening at 10.30 and closing at 4pm. We have over 50 stalls of locally unique handmade crafts and gifts along with locally produced foods as well as the Meadow School stalls comprising of Tombola, lucky dip, face painting and a craft table.
Back in 1989 a small group of PTA members of the Meadow Primary School decided to run a craft & gift fair to help raise additional funds for the redevelopment of the swimming pool. They found around 20 stall holders selling various types of crafts such as wooden toys, patchwork and other textiles. In their first year the craft & gift fair made £800 so the PTA decided to run it again!
The Craft, Gift & Food Fair Balsham has grown year upon year and it is become even more successful over the years. The fair brings in revenue of around £5k for the Meadow School PTA allowing them to enrich the children’s learning buying them much needed equipment. The Craft, Gift & Food Fair Balsham is widely anticipated and very well supported by the local community from families to businesses with nearly 1,000 visitors through our doors over the course of the weekend.
The cost of a pitch for the two days is £50 and for one day only £40. This fee includes a 6 foot trestle table, seating and a complimentary tea or coffee in the morning and afternoon. You are able to bring your own tables providing it is no larger than 6 foot in length.
